Patricia Bullrich, head of the La Libertad Avanza bloc, called to end the 'false dichotomy' between environmental protection and job creation and production. She emphasized that the true environmentalism of the 21st century is not one that prohibits everything, but one that is based on technology, control, transparency, and predictability. 'This is responsible environmentalism, not the extreme environmentalism that only does is prevent everything,' Bullrich differentiated. The former Minister of Security clarified that 'capitalism does not fear control' but 'arbitrariness, clientelism, discretion, feudalism'. 'Control is intrinsic to capitalism because it needs legal security,' she argued. Bullrich lamented that 'this confusion has paralyzed a huge amount of investments', stating that with a better delimitation of areas that do not contain water reserves, investment projects that will generate jobs and local production can be attracted. 'History is not knocking on the door. Let's not let this opportunity pass,' she urged before the vote. She emphasized that 'the backbone of the law is not touched' as glaciers are still considered goods of public interest and strategic reserves of water resources with full protection. 'It's not water or work,' she stressed.
